Introduction to Supervision

Rationale:

When personnel demonstrate comprehensive industry/workplace knowledge and above average ability in their respective roles along with good work ethics, companies will generally look to promote these individuals as part of their career development within the organisation.

Often this promotion will involve the supervision of personnel within their department or area of operation. The prospect of supervising work colleagues can be quite daunting for many individuals and without formal training or assistance, they may find the transition to supervisor extremely challenging

The other important factor for consideration is that formal training will provide the newly appointed supervisor with competencies that will assist them in making the transition into effective team leadership.
